Mr Shafi Ahmed

Mr Shafi Ahmed is a consultant general, laparoscopic and colorectal surgeon with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic, or keyhole, surgery. He has pioneered minimal invasive surgery by developing Single Incision Laparoscopic surgery (SILS) and has performed the first few cases in the UK.
He is the clinical lead clinician for colorectal cancer in the Academic Surgery Unit at The Royal London and St Bartholomews Hospitals.
He is also the Associate Dean for undergraduate medical students at Barts and the London medical school and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer carrying out research into colorectal cancer.
